We are a group of Christian believers who worship at the Ystrad Mynach Seventh-Day Adventist Church, situated in the heart of the Welsh valleys.
As Christians, our desire is to share Jesus, the light if the world, within our church family and in the wider community.
Our church is made up of people from all backgrounds, ages and nationalities.
We enjoy sharing in a loving and inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome.
We would love you to be part of this too.

Our Values
Looking to Jesus
As our first priority we look to Jesus to embrace his unconditional love, seeking his salvation, understanding we are saved by his sacrifice and not on our own works. We seek him through prayer, praise and the Scriptures. We look to him for our guidance, our strength and our protector.
Loving
We aim to show the love of God by providing a safe, protective and non-judgmental environment.
Belonging
We aim to ensure that anyone and everyone feels welcome and can belong, whether they are members or visitors.
Growing
As much as we love what God has done and is doing in our lives, we recognise we all have shortcomings, and our aim is to grow and develop and become more like Jesus in all we do.
Sharing
We aim to take all that God has given us and share it with the communities we serve.
Our Pastor
Adriana Fodor has been serving as the Pastor for Ystrad Mynach church since January 2018. She graduated from Newbold College with a Master of Arts in Theology in 2015 and has since then been working within the Welsh Mission. Firstly in the Shropshire district before being appointed to the Ystrad Mynach and Carmarthen churches.
A passion for evangelism is at the heart of Pastor Adriana’s ministry, which is driven by a desire to make the gospel of Jesus Christ known to each and every one throughout the Welsh Mission. Since taking over Ystrad Mynach church her desire has been to make the church more relevant and receptive to the ever changing community in which the church resides.
Pastor Adriana enjoys spending time in Bible studies with anyone wishing to learn more about the relevance of the gospel of Jesus. In her spare time she likes walking in the beautiful Welsh countryside and enjoying good food and music.
Our History
Adventism in Wales can be dated back to the 1880’s when typically members would meet in each others houses, hired rooms or halls.
Bethania was first opened in 1867 as a Welsh Presbyterian chapel and it was this chapel in Ystrad Mynach that a group of Adventists banded together and bought.
Bethania’s second opening came on the 21st July 1979 becoming the current Seventh Day Adventist Church we have today.
